The umbrella term “big data” describes the various ways in which masses of data are acquired and processed. It therefore also refers to a variety of technological applications. Tracking and data mining with the clustering, association analysis, and regression analysis methods are described in the text. They illustrate how data can be acquired on the one hand and how the data can be analyzed on the other.
