The media package for elementary school addresses the topics of the ear, hearing, and hearing damage as a complement to experiment “C3.3 Making loud noises quiet” from Experimento | 8+. The students become familiar with the hearing process and the parts of the ears and their functions. Causes of hearing damage are discussed, and an experiment shows what noise reduction can achieve. The students will become acquainted with hearing aids as a resource. The social and integrative aspects are especially addressed in the topic of hearing damage and hearing impairment. In experiments on themselves, the students experience how it feels to be hearing-impaired and consider how they can best communicate with a hearing-impaired friend.
