Acute inflammation of the middle ear is one of the most frequent illnesses that children get. Acute means it starts suddenly, is very severe but is usually over quickly as well. This kind of inflammation occurs more during the winter. Children who suffer from it usually had a cold before.
While acute middle ear inflammation is very painful, it usually heals up and is forgotten quickly provided it is treated and observed properly.
