Description:
Students are required to find three-digit combinations for a bicycle lock by trial and error. In addition, there are five-digit combinations for fast students. The numbered cards 1 – 9 are to be used for this (cut-out sheet contained in the worksheet). After this, the students are to develop ideas concerning the number of possible combinations. Using the answer sheet, the class can work out the solution systematically through calculation and representation of the results in a diagram. In this way, they will apply the knowledge they have learned.
