The teaching unit is intended for grade 6–8 Biology instruction, cross-curricular with Physics, and for a total of three to four school hours. Drawing upon aural impressions and experiences, physical experiments are employed to explore the biological anatomy and workings of the ear as a sensory organ, examining the hearing process step by step until it is understood. The students also learn what hearing impairment is.
You are supported in this real-world-oriented teaching by several media files (graphics, photos, sample audio clips, an information sheet and several experimentation instructions)! Teaching methods guide teachers in dividing up the teaching period and using the media.
