Computational Thinking – Introduction

Digitalization greatly influences all areas of life and is part of reality in the classroom. In the discussion of what skills students need to be well prepared for living in the digital world, competency in the area of Computational Thinking has gained importance. The term Computational Thinking describes concepts, procedures, and methods from the field of computer science that can be used in various contexts. Computational Thinking not only develops important skills such as critical and analytical thinking, but specifically enables systematic problem-solving processes to be effectively integrated into STEM lessons on an ongoing basis.

To start off, we would like to introduce the term Computational Thinking in greater detail. Then we will draw attention to references in science and technology lessons and present possible ways in which Computational Thinking can be enhanced in class.

We wish you lots of fun and success!
