Water is an environmentally friendly renewable energy source. It carries energy in the form of potential and kinetic energy (waves, flowing water and tides). In addition, the thermal energy stored in water (for example thermal waters) can also be used.

Information and ideas:
The graphic can be used as an introduction or an illustration in all teaching situations featuring the topic of “Water as an energy source”. It presents the renewable energy source water in the forms in which it occurs and refers to the energy states existing in hydropower.
