This information sheet briefly explains how traditional mass media work. The main characteristics of traditional media are mentioned. The information sheet contrasts them with social media and also mentions the characteristics of the latter. It shows how the differences in the flow of information and information paths are related to phenomena like disinformation (fake news) or hate speech.
