Two different senses are located in the ear: the sense of hearing and the sense of balance.
Humans use the sense of hearing to perceive sound waves in the form of music, speech, noises, etc.
Humans use the sense of balance to recognize posture, position and spatial movements of their body.

Information and ideas:
Students should understand the structure of the ear.
This is a basis for understanding:
• how hearing functions.
• what functions are fulfilled by the ear.
