Description:
The flowchart depicts how the search query (input) is processed in the search engine server and returns to the user as search results (output). Algorithms play a key role in the processing. When a user enters a search term in the input field of a search engine, this term is compared with the index of websites by matching algorithms. If the search term occurs in the index, the corresponding website is selected and arranged in a sequence according to defined relevance criteria.
