Students will learn how to determine the ph-value of everyday life solutions both acidic and basic.
One item deals with „Technical application and vocational orientation“.
Information and ideas:
• Copy the danger symbol for strong acids and strong bases. Ask the students: How can we protect ourselves from strong acids and bases in technical processes?
• Handle the expensive pH paper carefully. Let the students use only 1 cm for each test.
However, it is also possible to use liquid red cabbage indicator on the plastic film along with the pH paper. Compare the test result with the pH paper. In addition, you can soak kitchen paper in the red cabbage indicator solution and let it dry. Then cut it into strips.
