The experiment provides students with the opportunity to discover the characteristics and property of a diode (in this case a light emitting diode) and a switch. Students will also learn to distinguish the positive and negative region of a diode, the technical symbol for a diode, and how to draw a circuit diagram based on their experience from experiment The experiment is set up on a breadboard and requires that students have basic knowledge and understanding about the function and use of a breadboard (see 6.2 (3)). Alternatively, to using breadboards, the experiment can also be conducted with crocodile clip cables (see 6.1 (1)).
