In addition to smartphones, many other devices also collect and autonomously exchange data. They communicate with each other, for example, via a wireless network, and can be controlled remotely. In the process, the devices collect a wide variety of data, including users’ personal information. The information sheet covers devices such as fitness trackers, navigation devices, smart watches, smart home devices, and smartphones, but it also discusses the concerns about this technology.
