A table compares the most important energy crops in process or use, product, nitrogen requirement, and use of herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides during cultivation. Many examples of energy crop cultivation in various countries show the advantages and disadvantages.

The students could also work out the advantages and disadvantages of biogas (from corn) as an inquiry task.
