Beschreibung:
A steam turbine converts the thermal energy of steam into mechanical energy. The energy of the steam flow is transferred to the blades of the turbine. In order to utilize the energy of the steam to the maximum possible extent and so optimize the efficiency of the turbine, the turbine is built with several stages. The design of the individual turbine blades is also subject to constant improvement in order to increase the efficiency of the energy conversion. In power plants, the steam turbine is coupled to a generator that converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy.
